Unlike Western Canada it is rare for us to see a bear. When I am in the backwoods for work I often see their prints in the mud and the trees they use as scratching posts. It is a dream of ours to visit the Ghost Bears on Vancouver Island and meet and work with the Native Haida and Indians of the Queen Charlottes who have such a deep cultural and artistic connection with the West Coast Bears. One other hope is to visit the Polar Bears of the North.
