I was born in Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and grew up exploring the area and observing it's wildlife. I have been a pulp cutter for nearly twenty years and began chainsaw carving on work sites in 1998. Word spread and people started arriving at my home (a handmade log cabin) to see the works being done. Every piece carved is unique and makes itself known from the wood used. This includes pine, aspen and spruce which are cut from local forests as the areas are thinned promoting new growth. I am also happy to go to customer's homes to carve their trees. Instead of having the tree cut and removed they have a long-lasting sculpture. Nature and the environment are important to us and this is reflected in our lifestyle and work.

The chainsaw carvings shown are examples of what we have available. They range from 6 inches to 16 feet so there is something for everyone. At present we do not usually mail out the carvings as weight and insurance are prohibitive. Customers usually contact us and pictures of specific pieces can be mailed or e-mailed and arrangements can be made for pick-up. Each piece is usually priced individually depending on the carving and finish. Delivery and set-up of the larger carvings can be done in the Cape Breton area depending on the distance.

We also work with the Cape Breton Center for Crafts & Design (www.capebretoncraft.com) located on Charlotte St. in Sydney NS. Our more artistic and sculptured pieces usually end up on display and for sale there.

Thank you and feel free to contact us at any time. As we are a bit hard to find, call first if you would like to come visit us (We like to round up our three dogs before customers come or they will greet you loudly and want as much petting as you can give them).
